The pie charts compare proportion of
sales by a bookseller from 1972 to 2012.
While
rate of some types such as other, travel, biography had decreased, rest of the
books had increased over the period.
In
1972, the travel selling made up 15% of total trade. Even though travel had
witnessed an increase in 1992, it had declined to 10 percent in the end of the
period. Biography had almost halved from around a quarter to just under 10
percent as well as others types had nearly halved from a quarter to just over
10%.
Children’s
fiction had increased by 5 percent to 25% over the period. Likewise, adult fiction
had witnessed a dramatic increase from 20% to approximately a half over the
period, and this section had gained upper hand over rest of the 4 sections.
